Itinerary

On your first day in Aswan, you will be picked up from your hotel or Nile cruise at 8:00 am, embarking on a tour showcasing the best of the city. Your first stop will be the awe-inspiring High Dam, a 20th-century marvel built in 1960 to safeguard Egypt from the Nile's annual floods. Next, travel to Aswan's Granite Quarries, famous for supplying granite throughout Egypt. Here, you'll encounter the iconic Unfinished Obelisk, likely destined for Queen Hatshepsut. Gain insights into the ancient Egyptians' impressive techniques for carving these massive monuments. A short motorboat ride takes you to the magnificent Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Originally located near the First Cataract of the Nile, the temple complex faced repeated flooding after the construction of the Aswan Low Dam in 1902. As part of UNESCO's Nubia Campaign, the temple was meticulously dismantled and relocated to nearby Agilkia Island. Following this captivating tour, you will be returned to your hotel.

Your day begins at 5:00 am with a pickup from your hotel, taking you on an unforgettable journey to Abu Simbel. Here, you'll stand in awe of the majestic temples dedicated to King Ramses II and his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari. Perched above Lake Nasser, the Great Temple of Ramses II and the Temple of Hathor, collectively known as the Temples of Abu Simbel, are considered some of Egypt's most awe-inspiring and iconic monuments. These ancient wonders were saved from the rising waters of Lake Nasser, a consequence of the High Dam's construction, through an impressive feat of modern engineering that mirrored the audacious spirit of Ramses II himself. Meticulously relocated to their present location, they stand as a testament to human ingenuity and our enduring fascination with the past. Following your visit, you will be transported back to your hotel in Aswan, arriving around 1:00 pm.

Your third day begins at 6:00 am when your guide picks you up from your Aswan hotel. You'll enjoy a scenic drive to Luxor, stopping along the way to explore the impressive temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo. Kom Ombo Temple, known as "the double temple," honored two deities. The southern portion was dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god associated with fertility and creation, while the northern section was devoted to Horus, the falcon god. Next, you'll head to Edfu Temple, which is one of the very well-preserved ancient religious sites in terms of paintings, and was constructed during the Ptolemaic dynasty and dedicated to the worship of Horus. After your tour, you'll be transferred to your hotel in Luxor.

Your fourth day commences at 8:00 AM when your guide picks you up from your hotel. As you cross Luxor's bridge, you'll be captivated by the scenic journey, passing through lush farmlands, charming villages, and breathtaking mountain vistas. First, you'll explore the Valley of the Kings, where the well-preserved tombs of the New Kingdom pharaohs await. You'll witness the grandeur of Ramses II's tomb and delve into the mysteries surrounding the resting place of the young King Tutankhamun. Next, you'll travel to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a remarkable testament to the reign of ancient Egypt's only female pharaoh. This extraordinary structure, built during the 18th Dynasty, stands as a symbol of her 20-year rule. Later, you'll meet the two magnificent temples on the east bank of the Nile. The impressive Karnak Temple Complex, dedicated to the Theban triad (Amon, his wife Mut, and their son Khunsu), will leave you in awe. As the sun descends, you'll experience the enchanting atmosphere of Luxor Temple. Unlike other temples that close early, Luxor remains open, allowing you to witness its stunning architecture illuminated by a dazzling array of lights, creating an unforgettable spectacle. At the end of your day, you'll return to your hotel, filled with memories of the wonders of ancient Egypt.
