Itinerary

Day 1: East Bank Tour

Your Luxor adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your accommodation. Our knowledgeable guide will lead you to the East Bank of ancient Thebes, where the grandeur of Karnak Temple awaits.

This gigantic temple is the largest in Egypt and was dedicated to Amun, Mut, and Khonsu, and it’s connected to the royal Luxor Temple via the avenue of sphinxes. Over two millennia, roughly thirty Pharaohs contributed to the construction of this awe-inspiring masterpiece, creating a unique blend of size, intricate detail, and diverse architectural styles.

As the day draws to a close and the sun begins its descent, you’ll find yourself at Luxor Temple, where the ancient architecture is bathed in the golden hues of the setting sun. Entering the site, you’ll be greeted by the imposing pylon of Ramses II, his colossal statues, and a majestic obelisk. Historically, the Feast of Opet, which celebrated the union of Mut and Amun and the rebirth of their son and gave the Pharaoh fresh authority over all of Egypt, was held at the Luxor temple.

Adding to the site’s historical richness are a Roman chapel and a mosque, their contrasting styles harmoniously juxtaposed against the temple’s ancient columns.

Later, your guide will ensure a safe and comfortable return to your hotel.

Day 2: Luxor West Bank Tour

Following breakfast, you’ll set out on a captivating journey to Luxor’s West Bank. Your first stop is the Valley of the Kings, a mesmerizing testament to the Pharaohs’ grandeur. Here, you’ll find 63 tombs carved into the mountainside, the most renowned being that of King Tutankhamun. Step into a royal tomb and marvel at the vibrant wall paintings, which offer a glimpse into the ancient Egyptians’ beliefs and funerary practices. This experience serves as a powerful reminder of the Pharaohs’ prestige and greatness.

Next, your journey continues to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. As you approach, the striking cliff face will immediately capture your attention. At its base lies the true marvel, the Temple of Hatshepsut. Its external architecture seamlessly blends with the refined cliff, making it appear as if it were sculpted from the rock itself. Inside, you’ll notice that many statues and engravings have been defaced. Your knowledgeable guide will provide insight into the compelling history behind this.

Finally, you’ll arrive at the Colossi of Memnon, marking the end of your day’s exploration. These towering figures stand proudly, their gaze fixed on the Nile, serving as guardians of the grandest and most opulent temple in Egypt, that of Amenhotep. After your visit, your guide will escort you back to your hotel.

Day 3: Edfu-Kom Ombo Temples

Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Luxor to Aswan, where you’ll encounter magnificent temples. On the West Bank of the Nile lies Edfu Temple, one of Egypt’s best-preserved ancient religious sites. This Ptolemaic temple, dedicated to the falcon god Horus, offers a glimpse into the past. Its walls are adorned with inscriptions and scenes that provide insights into the language, traditions, and religious practices of Hellenistic Egypt. You’ll witness the legend of the sacred conflict between Seth and Horus, who sought revenge for the murder of his father Osiris.

Continuing your journey, you’ll arrive at Kom Ombo Temple, a unique double temple dedicated to two deities. The southern part is devoted to the crocodile god Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world, while the northern part honors the falcon god Horus. Step inside and observe scenes of religious ceremonies unique to this temple. In ancient times, Egyptians kept crocodiles near the temple. Today, you can see mummified crocodiles on display in the Crocodile Museum. Finally, you’ll reach Aswan, where you’ll check into your hotel and settle in.

Day 4: Abu Simbel

Your journey begins at 4 am when your guide picks you up from your hotel in Aswan. A three-hour drive in a private air-conditioned car will take you to Abu Simbel, 290 kilometers south of Aswan. The two impressive temples you are about to see stand on the West Bank of Lake Nasser, but their original location was elsewhere. To preserve these ancient wonders from the rising waters of the lake, they were moved in 1968. The entire temples were disassembled, relocated to higher ground, and painstakingly reassembled.

Explore these architectural marvels with your knowledgeable Egyptologist guide, delving into the history of this place and the great Pharaoh who built them. You’ll have plenty of time to capture lasting memories with your camera. After your extraordinary tour of Abu Simbel, you’ll be driven back to Aswan, where a relaxing traditional felucca ride awaits you, taking you around the islands of Aswan.

Finally, you’ll be taken back via our AC vehicle to the hotel.

Day 5: Aswan Highlights

Following a hearty breakfast, your day will be filled with the wonders of Aswan.

Begin with a scenic motorboat journey to the awe-inspiring Aswan High Dam, a testament to human engineering that regulates the Nile River’s flow, fostering year-round agriculture.

Next, embark on a serene sail to Agilika Island, where you’ll step back in time at Philae Temple.

This magnificent site, central to the worship of Isis, holds immense historical significance for Egypt.

After your exploration of the Nile, you will be comfortably transferred to your chosen destination in Aswan, whether it be your hotel or the airport.
